Mangled Wings

Wrath swam through him as agony kissed along his spine. By now though, Syn had come to numb the pain that was brought upon him by his wings so desperate to grow in. It was normal, he thought as the next flash of pain waved through him. His wings wished to spread themselves, glistening their pure white and fluttering as lightly as the breeze.
That wasn't to be, he knew this for a fact as he steeled himself. His wings had long before been ended their peaceful growth. All that remained from what were once to be wings were stunted growth of stiff cracked bone. However he never thought to lament his loss of what should have surely been natural to him.
He couldn't bring himself to care for it. No amount of anger, hate, sorrow would bring his wings back. However he could prevent it from happening ever again.
